In this fun play on a Muffuletta sandwich, we've deconstructed the classic New Orleans favorite to create a crisp and briny Chef's Salad.
Ingredients:
- 1 head romaine or butter lettuce, chopped
- 2 oz ham
- 2 oz salami
- 2 oz mortadella
- 2 oz provolone
- 1/4 cup Divina Muffuletta Olive Salad, brine drained and reserved
- 1/4 cup Divina Pepperoncini, sliced
- 1/2 loaf Italian bread, roughly cubed into large crouton pieces
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Toss bread pieces with olive oil, salt and pepper. Bake for about ten minutes, or until crunchy. Set aside.
- While the croutons are baking, dice meat and cheese into bite-size pieces.
- Toss all ingredients except brine.
- Add brine and olive oil to salad in place of dressing, to taste. Divide into bowls and serve.
